"Suddenly" is a beautiful love song, written by Keith Diamond and Billy Ocean. And also, Billy Ocean is the outstanding singer, who sings this song in a heart touching manner. To say the truth, this is one of my favorite songs.

“I used to think that love was just a fairy tale

until that first hello, until that first smile"

Until that ‘first hello’ and that ‘first smile’, the lyricist has never felt that love is such a serious thing. Perhaps he might never have experienced a love in his life time, until now. It says that this is a new experience to him.

"Suddenly, life has new meaning to me"

According to the lyricist, now he has a new meaning to his life. In the contrary, it emphasizes that earlier he had not such a meaning to his life. Perhaps he might have used to think that life is always simple and joyful. Now it seems that he is going to understand the real meaning of life. He is going to “wake up” in a new life.

"You wake up, and suddenly you're in love"

He asks himself to wake up and he says himself that he is in love. That line clearly highlights how strange this feeling is, to this person. It is unbelievable even to him. Perhaps he might never have expected this kind of a girl or a love but, he has now got the extreme of love, as it is emphasized in the song.

to say what i feel inside"

He does not even know how to express his feelings towards this girl or the love. He is that much crazy of this love. Obviously, it seems that this is too much than he expected.

Now he has become a person, who appreciates every single thing in his life. Even the walking along the shore with his girlfriend means a lot to him. Now he has a purpose in living. That purpose is his girlfriend. She has brought a new life and a new light to him, as it is asserted.

"Each day I pray, this love affair would last forever"

His love has become his life; his everything. Now he cannot imagine a world without her. That is why ultimately he wishes this love to last forever. It is so loving. Either this person has never fallen in love with a girl earlier or he has spent a jovial or playful life before he meets this particular girl. For the sake of that love, his life has been changed in a good or pleasant way.

Ultimately, when these meaningful and heart touching words mix with the sweet and calm voice of the singer, Billy Ocean, that combination carries us to another world. According to my point of view, it always gives fresh feelings of true and pure love. This song gives us the hope of love. So, "one thousand words are not enough to say what i feel inside", when I hear this loving song.
