19th Chinese Bridge competition.
The Chinese Bridge Competition is an international competition organized by the Hanban Institute of China .The competition is open for any Chinese student who is under age of 30 or any foreigner who does not speak Chinese as a native language .The Chinese Bridge Competition is held annually and was launched in 2002. This competition consists of 3 events: "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign High School Students and "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in China. A large number of Chinese-speaking students around the world compete in the Chinese Bridge competition, and the winners of the preliminary rounds in their respective countries qualify for the semi-finals and finals. The preliminary rounds will be held in various countries from January to June, and the semi - finals and finals will be held in China from July to August .They will also receive scholarships to study in China .
14th Chinese Bridge- Chinese proficiency competition for Foreign Collage students.
The Chinese Bridge Competition will also be held in Sri Lanka, where students of Chinese-speaking universities in Sri Lanka will be able to participate in the Chinese Proficiency Competition for foreign university students. The competition is organized by Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanaka, University of Kelaniya and University Of Colombo .The contestants are given a theme each year and a story is presented based on that theme .As well, a Chinese cultural element is also presented. First round will be selected at the university level, students who are selected from that round are eligible for the second round and required to present their skills before a formal panel of judges. Two selected students will qualify for the semi - finals in China .The 19th Bridge Competition was held recently and this competition is more special than any other competition as the competition has to be held online in the face of the worldwide Covid -19 pandemic .The main objective of the Chinese bridge competition is to raise awareness about the Chinese language and culture. It also provides an opportunity for Chinese language students to show their proficiency and learn from each other.
